i've said this on my deviantart page..and i'll say it here too
so please read :)

i'm sorry i don't thank everybody at their page like i used to..and that i don't comment often on your work..

but i hope this will get better by time..things have been a mess and it's getting organized now..i've been really busy with some stuff and now i'm ready to share some news and may be ask for guidance too!

i'm moving to Canada later this month..i'll be leaving on the 26th..and this is going to be a huge change in my life that i'm excited about

i still have no idea where or what or how i'm going to work there..or even where to look..what's the best or not..and stuff like that.. i'm still clueless and worried financially but i think it will be ok.. i can wash dishes after all hehehe!

if anyone here have any advice work(and life) in canada..and where i might look for a job that have something to do with drawing i'd be so grateful!

probably i'm going to be living in vancouver BC or toronto ON ..but i'll go to my wife at NB first..and i'll stay there to finish some papers and make some visits for a couple of months then we're moving after!..i'm thinking toronto ..hmmm..

right now i'm working a lot to collect some funds before i leave..and spending time with family and friends..god knows when i'm going to see them again and that i really will miss them so much..

i'll make another journal before i leave..i just wanted to share my news and if you have any advice i'll be thankful ..

or you can just wish me luck

colored!!

so first sorry for the long absense and not leaving comments to your art lately.. and god knows how much i love to look at your work..well..let's just say i'm really busy..work and personal life ..

well i'll try to post more ..but i promise i'll be more active by next month :)

so this is the colored version..it's all done with adobe illustrator.. and by the way it's my first attempt ever with a vector based software and it took me long time to get used to it ..would've taken me 1/10 th of time if done in photoshop..it might need more work ..but i'm happy with it...so have mercy :D
hopefully i'll get better :)

the timeline of sham el niseem

شم النسيم عبر التاريخ
شم النسيم دا حكايته حكاية..أكتر عيد تم اقتباسه و تعديله و تغيير مواعيده و رابط بين كذا ثقافة بشكل ما مبهم و غير مباشر..
انا كنت بفكر في أصل اليوم ده و نتائجه لقيت في تفاصيل صعبة جدا ..
الموضوع بدايته من زمان جدا ..(انا معتمد تماما على معلومات عبر قرائات و سمع و حوارات من الطفولة و حتى الأن.. فا لو غلطت ياريت تصلحلولي المعلومة ! )


- العيد هو عيد الربيع المصري من ايام الفراعنة(أكتر من 5000 سنة و كان من الأعياد المهمة لأنه كان حسب أعتقادهم يوم بدأ الخلق و ميلاد العالم.

- كانوا بيحتفلوا بأكل الأسماك المملحة و البيض واللذي منه زي دلوقتي كدا..بس مع رموز و دلالات دينية و نقش الأماني على البيض رمز بداية الحياة.

- زي ما احنا عارفين بني اسرائيل يوم ما خرجوا من مصر كان يوم مصر عندها عيد و بني أسرائيل هربوا في اليوم ده و ربنا نجاهم من فرعون و جنوده ففرحوا و خلوه يوم عيد برضه. فا بقى عيد الربيع المصري نفس يوم عيد " أو الفصح بكسر الصاد ..أو عيد العبور بتاعهم يعني..

- مرت سنين و كان احتفالهم صوم و عبادة و بيض و خس و بصل الى اخره..و أختلاف التقويم ملخبطني بس كان كل سنة يجي في وقت مختلف شأن التقويمات المختلفة و دخلت عليه طقوس من ثقافات تانية.

- حسب الأعتقاد المسيحي ان أحداث الصلب و القيامة كانت في الأيام المفترجة دي.. و المسيحيين الأوائل ما حبوش يحتفلوا بيه عشان بيرتبط بأحداث مفجعة.. لغاية ما تم الأتفاق على انها ذكرى يجب الأحتفال بيها مع صبغ البيض لون أحمر رمزا لدم المسيح و يكون دايما يوم الأحد..لأسباب كتيرة منها مخالفة اليهود حسب أراء و أراء شايفة انه "لأ طبعا الموضوع غير كدا"

-و لما دخلت المسيحية مصر كان المصريين طبعا "الله ؟..دا عيد الربيع بتاعنا"..فا السوفت وير كان متسطب بس اتعمله تحديث..بما انه يوم صوم و لازم يبقى فيه رنجة و بصل و الذي منه..خلوا الأحتفال بالربيع تاني يوم عيد القيامة أو الفصح (يوم الأثنين ...و المصريين مش هايغلبو.

-في الأسلام بعد كدا كان أحتفال المسلمين بصيام عاشوراء الذي قيل انه يوم نجى الله بني اسرائيل من فرعون و جنوده.. و كان العاشر من شهر المحرم ..مش عارف هل تصادف أن يهود بني قينقاع و اليهود تبعهم في يثرب كانوا صايمين يومها و لا دا تم بعد وحي الهي..المهم في ناس بتقول ان العيد ده هو الفصح و ناس بتقول أن دا يوم كيبور بتاع حرب اكتوبر.و الله اعلم.. بس برضو الصوم مستحب مع يوم تاني فبله او بعده مخالفة لليهود.

-بعد كدا حصلت معركة كربلاء في نفس اليوم دا بعد 60 سنة .. في عاشوراء..و قتل الحسين بن علي حفيد الرسول صلى الله عليه و سلم...وكانت مأساه و فاجعة و أنقسمت الأمة بسببها.

- يري الأخوة الشيعة ان صيام عشوراء بدعة و ضلالة و لا يجب الأحتفال و الأحتفاء به .. و عملو نسخة عنيفة جدا لذكرى مقتل الحسين رضي الله عنه!

-دلوقتي في مصر شم النسيم هو ببساطة عيد بييجي فيه الربيع و بناكل فيه رنجه و فسيخ (مش بحبه و بصل.و انتهاء صيام للمسيحيين و تلوين بيض ..و شكولاتة و ارانب وهدايا في الغرب و في عاشورا بناكل بليلة. و محدش فكر ان لولا ان اليوم دا كان عيد كانت الدنيا شكلها بقى ايه!؟

لو حد عاوز يصلح او يضيف حاجة عن اصل يوم عاشوراء يبقى يا ريت!
طبعا لو حد مسيحي أو يهودي يقدر يصلحلي معلوماتي أكون شاكر جدا .. و لو في قدماء مصريين يبقى هايل!

russian ballerina

i never got the chance to watch ballet live on a stage.. well i'm trying my best here, this is a part of an illustration for some article about russian film making..it was urgent and i didn't read the article..they needed anything that is a stereotype ..well i thought ballet and kalinka song/dance and balalaika and many others.. anyway... i really wish i knew more..would've researched if i had time.. so no offence for russians .. i really wish i knew more..respect!
well still not totally satisfied of the pose and proportions and some anatomy problems..i'm satisfied of it overall!
so there..my first quick sketch ,then a part of the illustartion..then some details for no good reason haha!

انا عمري ما رحت حفلة باليه في حياتي!.بس لقيت نفسي برسم راقصة باليه لما طلب مني رسم ليه علاقة بصناعة السينما في روسيا .. كان نفسي يكون عندي وقت أكبر و الاقي معلومات تفيدني لأفكار تانية.. بس اهو اللي حصل !!

الرسم ممكن يكون فيه عيوب بس انا راضي عنها ككل..نظرا ل "زنقة" الوقت!

mousegirl ....just one more time

...it's just another girl- sketch- drawn- only- using- a -mouse- thingie.. for the drawing board..
tools used.. photoshop , mouse, patience, nervousness, lots of work that i don't feel like finishing and obviuosly will miss the deadline so "what the heck" kinna mood!
time : 30 to 40 min
..that's all about it!
is it strange that i enjoy it just because i'm too lazy to scan? :D
i should get a wacom someday!

absurd (محدش فاهم حاجة)

نفسي أفهم اذا كان مافيش حد الا و بيقول انه أستهبال.. مطلوب مننا ايه بالظبط بكرة!!؟
كل ما اسأل حد يقول هانخرج بدري من الشغل بس ما يمنعش ان ربنا ينتقم منهم!!
و في الغالب مش رايحين الأستفتاء و اللي بيحصل دا حرام واللهّّّ و أشياء من هذا القبيل بس محدش عارف ولا فاهم حاجة غير انه هايبقى في هووم ديليفاري سيرفيس لقوات الأمن دلوقتي.. مش هتحتاج تخرج عشان يتعرفوا عليك!

last december's sketchcrawl

i'm sharing these because i miss sketching in cafes and streets..i'm just so busy nowadays to do so.. i was at "cilantro" cafe in zamalek (om kolthom barnch) :D when i sketched those..i was with a friend to make myself less suspicious ..or ourselves..he was sketching too haha... it's a good tip! well.. i did some quick photoshop coloring! ..and you can always read the notes if you want!
this was for the enrico casarosa's infamous sketchcrawl event...






and this was an attempt to digital inking of one of the sketches above!..was so intense and hurts my hand!..

the last sketchcrawl was 4 days ago and i missed it.. i was really busy... it's always fun to sketch ..i'll try to focus on more things next sketchcrawl event.. i focus more on people..may be i'll try to add some other stuff...
please go read this blog! ... it would be nice if people would do what's said!
and would be great if we could "steal" (pardon me) the idea ..every group for their own people and country!

le petit prince ...again!

it has been a year since i made this.. and it's related to special times and occasions i had last year..and that i hope will still be special till reincarnate into a slow turtle who will live longer than i did haha!,
anyway.. this is supposed to be "le petit prince" or "the little prince" , written and originally written by french aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry , his words and drawings were so simple and you can relate to it as a kid and as an adult too , it's kind of magical , and i just made my version because of personal reasons, to my rose and planet if you can understand :)
so there is how i did it..step by step.. or just 4 steps :)
